Cardboard boxes are the most manufactured type of compact cardboard boxes in the world, standing out for their versatility, easy assembly and low cost compared to other formats, adapting to almost any size. They are widely used in various sectors, being especially common for packaging medicines. These boxes open at both ends and usually include flaps or tabs that can be crimped for closure, which makes them also known as boxes with flaps or boxes with tabs.

These boxes are similar to cases, but with the difference that one of their openings is always closed, allowing them to be opened only on one side (unlike cases, which open on both sides).

They are used in various applications, generally in a vertical position, with a top opening and a flap or tab to close. If a side opening is required, it is recommended to opt for a case-type box with openings at both ends.
